Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Develop and implement marketing strategies, identify and evaluate business opportunities and foster strong customer relationships
• Plan and implement new product launch activities
• Liaise and negotiate with local market personnel, buyers, and suppliers in India for product procurement
• Build and strengthen relationships with buyers, retail personnel, and relevant parties to ensure smooth business operations
• Develop and implement strategies to increase sales of wet batter, yogurt, and other fresh food products
• Maintain and build relationships with key accounts and store personnel
• Research, select, and purchase merchandise from suppliers and vendors to meet quality and quantity standards
• Receive and inspect incoming merchandise to ensure it meets quality and quantity criteria
• Provide product knowledge, samples, and customer service support
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the wet batter, yogurt, and fresh food manufacturing industry
• Analyze customer feedback and recommend strategies to improve products
• Ensure customer satisfaction and address customer complaints
• Maintain updated knowledge of new products and pricing
• Ensure all merchandise is stored and handled properly in accordance with safety and food handling regulations
• Manage inventory and place orders as necessary
• Adhere to all safety regulations when transporting merchandise
• Perform other related duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in merchandising, purchasing, or a related field in the fresh food and catering industry
• Knowledge of food catering and distribution channels
• Deeper knowledge of Indian and Bangladeshi food menus
• Knowledge of wet batter, yogurt, and fresh food manufacturing and related processes
• Knowledge of inventory control systems and food safety regulations
• Understanding of current industry trends and regulations
• Basic understanding of production and packaging procedures
• Preferably experienced in wholesale/retail packaging
• Good knowledge of Indian and Bangladeshi food product distribution through various channels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work longer hours with prolonged periods of standing
• Valid driving license (2A/2B/Class 3) and own transport preferred
• Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays (off on weekdays)
• Field work required, including delivery duties when necessary
• Knowledge of controlling storage room temperatures for frozen products
• Familiarity with food handling and processing
• Ability to lift and transport heavy objects
• Preferably bilingual to communicate with Indian and Bangladeshi speaking suppliers and vendors
