We’re seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong data literacy and experience in the financial sector to support the design, analysis, and delivery of data-driven solutions. You’ll serve as a key liaison between business units and technology teams, ensuring that data systems and reporting structures align with operational, regulatory, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders across business functions to gather, clarify, and document data and reporting requirements related to banking services, customer behavior, and regulatory needs.
- Collaborate with data architects and developers to translate business use cases into well-structured data requirements, supporting both operational and analytical initiatives.
- Support the design and validation of data models and data flows, ensuring they reflect real-world business processes and compliance obligations.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of reporting systems, data marts, and business intelligence tools by providing clear business logic and context.
- Assist in analyzing data from core banking and financial systems to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Support data governance initiatives by helping define data definitions, maintain business glossaries, and document lineage for critical data elements.
- Work on projects related to regulatory reporting, risk management, and compliance, ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured and implemented.
- Serve as a point of contact between the business and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Create business-friendly documentation such as requirements specs, user guides, process diagrams, and status reports.
- Communicate insights, findings, and updates clearly to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- At least 6 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or data-centric project roles within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of data structures and how they apply to banking operations, risk, and compliance.
- Experience collaborating with data modelers or data engineering teams; ability to interpret data models and provide business context
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation is a plus
- Exposure to tools like Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting and visualization platforms.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts, including data quality, lineage, and metadata management (experience with tools like Collibra is a bonus)
- Working knowledge of APAC financial regulations and reporting requirements is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Capable of producing high-quality documentation and facilitating discussions between business and technical teams.
This is a contract role based in Singapore.
