Job description

Supreme Maritime is a privately owned shipping company with a strong presence in Asian market. We are expanding rapidly and are looking for candidates to join as Bunker Procurement Manager in our Singapore Office.

You will be responsible for all the bunkers replenishment for our fleet of owned and chartered vessels with provision of safe operating margin for the performance of the company.

Responsibilities:-

  • The key role compasses around the procurement of bunker for the fleets.

  • Source for right quotation/price, evaluate and confirm supplier with endorsement from the Head of Procurement on the bunker price.

  • Managing overall bunker supplier evaluation process which includes but not limited to quality, quantity, and other bunker operations related performance metrics.

  • Identifying and resolving all bunker operations related issues.

  • Managing and monitoring and documenting all bunker activities.

  • Liaison with Master/Operations Manager/Superintendent and ship management team for bunker quantity requirements to meet vessels' bunker specifications.

  • Communicate bunker nomination to supplier, vessel, agent, and related parties in the Company and follow up on the status of surveyor appointment till bunkers lifting.

  • Knowledgeable in marine industry especially bunkering related matters, including but not limited to quantity, quality, and operational issues. Having a commercial perspective will be an advantage.

  • Preferably knowledgeable in operations research and linear programming (BOPS), and its application in the bunkering industry.

  • Self-starter and able to self-motivate and is able to identify and resolve problems independently.

  • Managing both routine and non-routine daily workflow.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely through verbal and in writing and manage our stakeholders relationships.

  • Using the data collected/trends observed, to come up with proposal for continuous improvements projects.

  • Ability to provide forwards prices and handle negotiate hedge deals when required.

  • Work with management to assess and improve processes and development of policies.

  • Other works as assigned by the management.

Requirements:-

  • Diploma/University Degree (desired if in logistics, shipping or economics).

  • Min. 6 to 8 years relevant working experience.

  • Experience in bunker or fuel oil procurement.

  • Relevant technical and analytical skills, ability in setting priorities.

  • Reliable track record in shipping industry.

  • Excellent communication and social skills.

  • Team player, well organized and structured.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail.

  • Good verbal and written skills in English and Mandarin to communicate with Chinese speaking business partners.

  • Able to work under pressure.

  • Good negotiating skills.

  • Good computer skills. Familiar with IMOS software would be an advantage.

  • Singaporean and candidates who residing permanently in Singapore are preferred to apply.
