Job summary

Straits Teamwork in Singapore is seeking a capable Architect/Design Coordinator to drive project phases from initial concept through construction. You will prepare drawings, coordinate with C&S and M&E engineers, and submit plans to URA, BCA, SCDF, NEA for approvals.

During tender, you will assist QS, respond to contractor queries, and evaluate bids. In construction, you will coordinate site meetings, approve samples, and manage variations, progress claims, and site inspections to ensure

Responsibilities

• Concept to detailed design based on client brief; lead coordination with C&S, M&E engineers
• Prepare tender drawings, specifications and architectural details; assist QS with tender documents
• Site coordination during construction; issue drawings updates, RFIs, and instruction replies on behalf of Client
• Coordinate site meetings; approve materials, shop drawings, and submittals
• Evaluate and recommend Variation Orders; certify progress claims and payments
• Conduct joint inspections for TOP/CSC; list defects and issue rectifications

Job description

1. Design & Authority Submission Stage

• Develop concept, schematic and detailed design based on Client's brief
• Prepare drawings and lead coordination with C&S, M&E engineers
• Prepare and submit plans to authorities - URA, BCA, SCDF, NEA for approval
• Lead Design Meetings.

2. Tender Stage

• Prepare tender drawings, specifications and architectural details
• Assist QS to prepare tender documents
• Answer tender queries from contractors (like you)
• Evaluate tender and advise Client.

3. Construction Stage

• This is where you will deal with him most
• Contract Administrator's Representative: He issues instructions, drawing updates, RFIs reply on behalf of ClientSite Monitoring: Carry out site inspections to check if work is according to drawings and quality
• Coordination: Chairs site meetings, coordinates with other consultants
• Approval of Materials: Approve architectural samples, shop drawings, material submissions from you
• Variation: Evaluates and recommends Variation Orders (VO)Progress Claim: Certifies your progress claim / payment response.

4. Completion Stage

• Conduct joint inspection for TOP / CSCList defects and issue Architect's Instruction for rectificationCertify Practical Completion, Final Completion and release of retention.
