Qualifications

• Proven experience as painter.
• Excellent knowledge of painting materials, including selection, mixing, and application.
• Solid knowledge of commercial and construction painting techniques.
• Aptitude in using painting tools such as brushes and caulking guns.
• Ability to work flexible hours including night/day shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and instructions to assess surface conditions and determine necessary painting work.
• Prepare work sites by building scaffolding and covering fixtures to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Prepare walls and surfaces by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint to create a smooth base.
• Fill cracks and holes with suitable materials such as plaster to ensure surface integrity.
• Mix paint and materials to achieve the correct color and texture for each project.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes accurately using brushes, caulking guns, and other tools.
• Calculate project costs and negotiate prices with clients to meet budget requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and maintain balance when working on scaffolding and ladders.
