You will read blueprints and work instructions, mix paints, apply finishes with brushes and rollers, and assemble scaffolding as needed. The role requires physical fitness and flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays when required.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in painting, preferably in construction or commercial sectors.
• Knowledge of painting materials and ability to mix and apply them correctly.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and construction painting techniques.
• Able to use painting tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, caulking guns, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Good manual dexterity and balance, with the ability to work safely at heights.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Examine surfaces to determine preparation and painting requirements.
• Build scaffolding and cover areas to ensure safe prep and execution.
• Prepare walls by scraping, sanding, cleaning and removing old paint.
• Fill cracks and holes using plaster or suitable materials.
• Mix paints to achieve desired colour, texture and consistency.
• Apply paint, varnish and finishes using brushes, rollers, caulking guns and other tools.
• Calculate materials and project costs when necessary.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
• Perform other painting duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Able to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
