Job Overview:


As the Broker Operations Support Manager, you will lead and manage the middle and back-office operations for our brokerage business. This role requires strong operational expertise, a solid understanding of brokerage processes, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal teams, external clients, and counterparties to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Onboarding & Account Management

  • Manage the full client onboarding process, including KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) assessments, ensuring compliance with MAS regulatory requirements.
  • Review and verify client documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy before account opening.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely updates to reflect changes in client profiles.

2. Trade Operations & Settlement

  • Oversee the timely follow-up and matching of trade confirmations within stipulated deadlines.
  • Manage the resolution of client account issues, trade breaks, or discrepancies with internal teams and external counterparties.
  • Monitor trade settlement processes to ensure timely and accurate completion in line with market deadlines.

3. Compliance, Audit & Control

  • Implement and enforce operational controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and MAS guidelines.
  • Maintain proper documentation controls and record retention practices in accordance with audit and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with compliance and risk teams to address any breaches, irregularities, or process gaps.

4. Process Improvement & Team Management

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior team members to ensure operational excellence.
  • Liaise with IT and project teams to support operational system upgrades, automation initiatives, and workflow enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in brokerage operations, preferably in a middle/back-office role within a securities or investment firm.
  • Prior experience in RQFII (Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor) processes will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of MAS regulations, brokerage operations, and trade lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese-speaking clients and counterparts.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
