Job summary

Planetcast International Pte Ltd is seeking an MCR Engineer to manage live and recorded media feeds via Satellite, Fiber and IP technologies. You will handle ingest, monitoring, QC/transcoding, and feed coordination for error-free broadcasts.

The role requires strong English communication, ability to translate user requirements into technical specs, and the capacity to work in rotating shifts while ensuring standards compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive feeds through Fiber and Satellite; shuffle audio for house format and provide live sources to TX.
• Operate and troubleshoot AV systems, including video formats and multi-language audio tracks.
• Upload the ingest schedule into the ingest scheduler.
• Verify ingest live feeds are routed correctly to the ingest application.
• Test audio and video quality of links during live telecast.
• Operate and coordinate with core facilities for live feed acquisition via satellite, fiber, or IP.
• Monitor servers, storage, network switches, power, and other equipment.
• Quality control and transcoding of incoming streams or transfers to media servers.
• Update the station router according to event schedules.
• Identify issues and take preventative actions to restore traffic.
• Coordinate feed management to ensure error-free transmissions.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of MCR equipment (FMS servers, routers, buzzers, monitoring tools).
• Document shift reports, incidents, and resolutions for future reference.
• Ensure monitoring and adjustment of incoming feeds per broadcasting standards and compliance.

Job description

The MCR Engineer is responsible for the core of the station’s technical facilities, acquisition

Of live and recorded media via Satellite, Fiber, and IP Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 1. Responsible for receiving various feeds through Fiber as well as Satellite. Shuffle audio of feed through MMS Client as per house format, and provide live event sources to TX.
2. 2. Strong knowledge of audio-visual (AV) technology involves video formats, multi-language audio tracks, understanding the equipment, setups, and troubleshooting for audio and visual systems.
3. 3. Upload the Ingest schedule into the ingest scheduler
4. 4. Check all ingest live feeds routed properly to the ingest application
5. 5. Testing Audio and Video Quality of Given Links during Live Telecast.
6. 6. Operate & communicate with the core technical facilities for the acquisition of live feed via satellite, fiber, or IP Technology
7. 7. Monitoring of server, storage, network switch, Power supply, and other equipment
8. 8. Undertake Quality Control and transcoding of all incoming streams or package transfers to Media Servers
9. 9. Regularly update the station router as per the event schedule
10. 10. Identify & resolve the issues and take immediate preventative action to restore traffic
11. 11. Feed venue coordination for Error‑free transmission. (Feed management)
12. 12. Conduct routine checks and maintenance of MCR equipment, including FMS servers, routers, Buzzers, and monitoring tools.
13. 13. Documentation of shift reports, technical incidents, and resolutions for future reference.
14. 14. Ensure the monitoring and adjustment of incoming feed according to the broadcasting Standards and follow the statutory compliance.
