Boiler Engineer

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides proactive supervision and direction at all times to ensure the incineration plant is operating as to maintain safety, environmental, and operational priorities at the optimum production level.
2. Ensures critical plant parameters are within the target and provides guidance and advice for corrective action in the event of any plant upsets or hiccups, including conducting investigation/troubleshooting.
3. Knowledgeable on how to achieve operating targets and strategies (KPI), and leads the operating team to achieve those results.
4. Plans and communicates effectively with HOD to ensure the target is achieved.
5. Takes measures to keep sufficient levels of reagents and consumables for daily plant operations.
6. Properly plans for equipment handover to maintenance to achieve minimum equipment downtime, including equipment handover planning for shutdown and turnaround.
7. Reviews and updates operational work processes, including risk assessment (RA) and standard operating procedure (SOP).
8. Assists in preparation and monitors monthly budgets for reagents, consumables, and all other controllable operating expenses.
9. Supports report writing/dashboard development to management on plant performance and compliance.
10. Provides support to technical compliance, safety, and HR team related to operational training development and tracking within the operation team.
11. Supports the engineering department on plant improvement initiatives and capital project base.
12. Takes the lead in energy management and improvement/modification initiatives, including management of change (MOC) implementation, design review, commissioning new facilities, and leading Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR).
13. Creates and maintains formal documents.
14. Checks standard and regulatory compliance.
15. Management, operation, and maintenance of Sludge plant and ancillaries.
16. Plans, arranges, and coordinates waste arrival with transport and logistics team.
17. Manages and controls odour system.
18. Manages and handles ash, RO system, and Z conveyor.
19. Liaises with MOM, NEA for Boiler annual statutory inspections and report submissions.
20. Prepares procedures, checklists, and training materials to train technicians and operators.
21. Coordinates with maintenance and engineering department and contractors for attending the respective works.
22. Coordinates with Biomass, Dryer, Laundry, and ISO tank operation.
23. Coordinates with other departments (lorry crane, tanker, and depot).
24. Coordinates with Purchase, Admin, accounts, and sales to send the related documents in correct time.
25. Sourcing materials, contractors, and spares and liaising with suppliers for materials and spare parts purchase and delivery.
26. Liaises with external parties and organizations for the commercial and technical improvements of the plant.
27. Liaises with internal departments and external parties for new project execution.
28. Responsible for plant safety and housekeeping.
29. Holds safety responsibilities for the role and reports any unsafe conditions.
30. Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by Plant Manager and Chief Engineer.
