Job Role: BMS Embedded Hardware Electronic Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and validate embedded hardware systems for Battery Management Systems (BMS) – including analog/digital mixed-signal circuits, PCBs, sensors, communication interfaces, and power electronics – to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable battery operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Create schematics and select components for BMS electronics, including sensor interfaces, analog front-ends, ADCs/DACs, current/voltage monitors, and cell-balancing circuits, Design power electronics modules (e.g., DC-DC converters, inverters), mixed-signal hardware (analog + digital), integrating microcontrollers, sensors, protection systems as required
  • Strong in implementing EMC/EMI-aware PCB layouts (using Altium, etc)
  • Conduct circuit simulations and analyses using tools like LTSpice, Simulink, PLECS, PSpice
  • Perform DFMEA, failure-mode analysis, and validation to meet safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 62133, UL 1973, IEC 61508, etc.)
  • Define and support hardware–firmware interfaces; ensure compatibility with embedded firmware (MCU peripherals, interrupts, ADC, DAC)
  • Implement and test communication protocols: CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, RS485
  • Build and test hardware prototypes; develop validation and end-of-line test plans/specs
  • Conduct EMC/EMI testing and debugging on prototypes and production units
  • Support hardware-in-loop (HIL) and system-level testing compliance to regulation
  • Integration with other members of system, software, hardware and battery product design and system design team
  • Prepare detailed documentation: schematics, BOMs, test reports, DFMEA, regulatory compliance records.
  • Stay updated on advancements in battery tech, power electronics, and BMS design; recommend improvements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ or more experience in automotive electronic, or embedded industry.
  • Bachelor/Master graduation in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree
  • Experience with automotive engineering process and hardware design process
  • Good experience with automotive microcontroller, NXP, Infineon AURIX and its embedded peripherals
  • Good with EMC/EMI design and testing
