The pharmacist reviews and verifies prescriptions, ensuring correct dosages and identifying potential risks.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Review each patient’s medication chart or prescription for the appropriateness of the drugs prescribed and contact the prescribing doctor when intervention is needed. Ensure all orders are clear, specific, and within therapeutic limits. Identify potential adverse reactions and interactions.
• Fulfill all drug orders accurately and promptly.
• Check and verify prescriptions, dispense prescribed drugs, and provide counselling.
• Provide drug information services to medical staff.
• Prepare extemporaneous products as prescribed.
• Maintain proper inventory records of all drugs. Conduct stock checks to ensure adequate stock in all wards and replenish when necessary.
• Supervise the work of Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Technicians.
• Communicate with external doctors and Hospital-based Resident Medical Officers as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
• Ensure all sales and supply of medicinal products comply with legal requirements. Maintain records related to drug receipt, supply, storage, and distribution as required by hospital and legal authorities.

How to Succeed

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university recognized by the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Registrable with the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience as a hospital pharmacist.
• Effective team player.
• Willing to work rotating shifts and night shifts.
• Exhibits integrity and honesty.
• Works well independently.
