Job summary

GenScript Biotech Corporation is seeking a dedicated lab professional to support daily experimental tasks in the Oligo/ PCR and plasmid workflows. You will record data, monitor equipment, and ensure strict adherence to SOPs while maintaining a clean lab environment.

The role requires a strong foundation in molecular and cell biology, hands-on experience with genetic engineering techniques, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences / Life Sciences / Bioengineering / Chemistry or related courses.
  • Solid foundation in Molecular Biology and Cell Biology; strong background in experimental operation; familiar with conventional techniques of genetic engineering (e.g., primer design, plasmid design, PCR, restriction digestion, homologous recombination, CRISPR/Cas9, transformation, plasmid isolation, sequence analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Operate daily experimental tasks for the assigned team (Oligo/PCR/Ligation/Screening/Plasmid/Sequencing/QC/Reagent).
  • Perform daily operation of experimental technology per SOPs.
  • Arrange daily order sheet, summarize schemes for the day, record reagents/products to prepare.
  • Record all experimental data and results in paper and electronic forms with accuracy.
  • Monitor and report status of delegated experiments and hand over incomplete work as needed.
  • Monitor equipment status daily and report abnormalities.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly environment and suggest 5S improvements.
  • Provide support for team optimization and innovation projects.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

  • Operation and ensuring the completion of daily experimental task for the assigned team (Oligo/PCR/Ligation/Screening/Plasmid/Sequencing/QC/Reagent)
  • Operation of experimental technology: Perform daily operation of tasks and any equipment with strict accordance to relevant Standard Operating Procedures in the role
  • Be responsible for the arrangement of the daily order sheet, sorting out and summarizing the schemes that need to be done on the day, recording the reagents/products that need to be prepared
  • Record all experimental data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Monitor and report the status of all delegated experiments and tasks, ensuring that any handover of incomplete experiments, abnormality analysis and daily order status report is thoroughly conveyed to the supervisor or handed over to relevant personnel
  • Monitor equipment status daily and report back to the team’s supervisor should abnormalities occur
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and
  • Be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment, and to provide suggestions to the supervisor on 5S improvement and maintenance
  • Provide support for the team’s optimization and innovation projects
  • Be responsible for any other tasks the supervisor assigns

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences / Life Sciences / Bioengineering / Chemistry or related courses
  • Solid foundation in Molecular Biology and Cell Biology; strong background in experimental operation; familiar with Conventional techniques of genetic engineering, such as Isolation and Manipulation of DNA (i.e: Primer Design, Plasmid Design, PCR, Restriction Digestion, Homologous Recombination, CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing, Transformation, Plasmid Isolation, Sequence Analysis and etc.) is preferred
  • Strong sense of achievement; resilient and able to perform under the pressure
  • Team player with good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Available to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends
