Job summary

PROCESS ENGINEERING SPECIALISTS PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Upstream Biotechnologist to support projects in the Life Sciences industry.

The role requires expertise in upstream processes such as harvesting, inoculation, centrifuge and fermentation systems, with experience on large NPIs or Brownfield projects. You will document work per approved manufacturing formulas, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and use Delta-V and SAP for process control and data entry.

Qualifications

• Must have upstream process knowledge including harvesting, inoculation, centrifuge and fermentation systems.
• Experience on large NPIs/Brownfield projects.
• Ability to document work according to approved manufacturing formulas.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
• Proficient in process control and data entry using Delta-V and SAP.
• Adhere to SHE safety requirements and report incidents promptly.

Responsibilities

• Operate computers for process control and data entry (using systems such as Delta-V and SAP).
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
• Create documentation like SOPs, MBRs and process design maps.
• Conduct pressure, leak and helium tests to ensure vessels are in optimal condition.
• Ensure assemblies are welded correctly using Bio Welder and verify connections.
• Use SAP to transfer materials from other departments to upstream.

We are currently looking for a Upstream Biotechnologist to join us on a permanent role to help us deliver various projects in the Life Sciences Industry.

Key Attributes/Responsibilities

• Must have upstream process knowledge including but not limited to Harvesting, inoculation, centrifuge systems, fermentation systems etc.
• Have worked on large NPIs/Brownfield projects.
• Prioritize assigned tasks and ensure all work is documented according to approved manufacturing formulas.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
• Operate computers for process control and data entry (using systems such as Delta-V and SAP).
• Adhere to safety requirements in all tasks, report incidents and near misses promptly, and assist with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) incident investigations.
• Create documentation like SOPs, MBRs and process design maps.
• Ensure assemblies are properly welded using the Bio Welder and verify connections.
• Conduct pressure tests, leak tests, and helium tests to prevent vessel leaks and ensure vessels are in optimal condition for subsequent processes.
• Use the SAP system to transfer materials from other departments to the upstream department.
