Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help design, develop, and deploy the BDH digital platform. You will build scalable microservices, data pipelines, and APIs used by biomedical researchers and IT teams.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering or related field.
2+ years of software development experience with Python and/or Node.js.
Experience with data processing and ORMs (e.g., Pandas, SQLAlchemy).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain containerised microservices using Python (FastAPI).
Build and manage data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
Develop tools for metadata standardisation ( DCAT, OMOP CDM mapping ).
Create and maintain RESTful APIs for data upload, query and ETL.
Collaborate with researchers to translate needs into technical requirements.
Contribute to secure, scalable infrastructure and adopt best practices, including testing and CI/CD.
