Job summary

IMCB, a premier biomedical research institute under A*STAR in Singapore, invites a Scientist/Senior Scientist to join as a Bioinformatician/computational biologist in the Patani lab. You will contribute to RNA metabolism studies in ALS using human iPSC-derived neurons and collaborate with wet lab scientists from project conception through validation.

You should have strong Python or R skills, experience with RNA-Seq data, and interest in post-transcriptional biology and neuroscience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming in Python or R.
• Experience with RNA sequencing data from scratch.
• Experience investigating RNA metabolism and post-transcriptional mechanisms of disease.
• Experience working in a rigorous research environment.
• Some knowledge of statistics is desirable.
• Some knowledge/interest in molecular biology and neuroscience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with wet lab scientists from experimental design through to validation and mechanistic deconvolution.
• Develop projects focusing on the role of RNA metabolism in motor neuron disease with an ALS focus.
• Perform computational analyses and interpret results to drive biological insights.
