Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry or related field.
• Prior laboratory research experience, with preference for lab management or procurement.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management and general operation of the laboratory.
• Manage procurement of laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment, including quotations, ordering, deliveries and relevant documentation.
• Maintain laboratory inventories and ensure adequate stocks of commonly used reagents, consumables and supplies.
• Coordinate the maintenance, servicing, calibration and repair of laboratory equipment, including liaison with vendors and relevant university units.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and support compliance with institutional laboratory safety, biosafety and administrative requirements, including laboratory access and onboarding of new staff and students.
