The team seeks a student intern who will own a real-world project end-to-end, process large datasets with PySpark/Hive/Trino, and develop ML models. English/Mandarin bilinguals are preferred to coordinate with overseas partners.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a quantitative field such as CS, DS, statistics, math, or engineering.
• Strong foundation in ML concepts with Python and SQL.
• Familiar with major DBMS systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end real-world project streams (e.g., detection, sequencing, or feature discovery).
• Process billions of records using PySpark, Hive, and Trino; build robust SQL pipelines.
• Build, evaluate, and iterate ML models and translate results into business metrics.

About The Team

What You'll Do

• Own a real-world project stream end-to-end, such as syndicate detection, user behavior sequencing, market manipulation detection, or feature discovery.
• Process and analyze billions of records using PySpark, Hive, and Trino, and develop robust SQL pipelines for feature engineering and validation.
• Build, evaluate, and iterate on machine learning models, translating model performance into meaningful business metrics such as detection rate, false-positive rate, and latency.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong foundation in machine learning concepts, with proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Comfortable working with large-scale datasets; experience with Apache Spark is a plus.
• Proficient in leveraging AI coding agents, such as Claude Code or Cursor, to accelerate development and improve productivity.
• Proactive and detail-oriented, with a strong instinct for investigating data anomalies and identifying root causes.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin is required to effectively coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders.
