Job summary

A leading M&E consultancy in Singapore is seeking an experienced BIM Modeller / Coordinator to manage small and large projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in building services design, excellent client-facing and communication skills, and a minimum of 5 years of Revit experience. Responsibilities include developing BIM models, coordinating with teams, and ensuring quality. This role is suited for someone currently in a building services consultancy with a proactive approach to client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of Revit project experience.

  • Knowledge of Singapore standards, BS, NFPA preferred.

Job description

RED is an expanding international M&E consultancy, with a proven track record in low energy design, focused on providing excellent design solutions to clients.

We now seek an experienced BIM Modeller / Coordinator to be based in our Singapore office to inspire others. You will have the ability to run small and large-sized projects, undertake a client-facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects. Experience in delivering data centres, along with other sectors including commercial, hotel, retail, and hospitality design, is desirable.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with colleagues and clients, and experience working on innovative projects with leading client organizations and contractors will enable you to take a proactive role in forging client relationships within our sector portfolio.

You should possess good commercial awareness, along with robust technical knowledge relevant to building services design, capable of integrating these technologies into the hotel/hospitality and leisure sectors. The position is ideally suited for someone currently working in building services consultancy and willing to work hands-on.

  • Develop schematic and Revit/BIM MEP models across all business sectors.
  • Coordinate with BIM consultants and engineers.
  • Ensure models are accurate through final checks, making modifications or guiding subordinates as needed.
  • Liaise with the lead office and clients regarding model modifications.
  • Utilize new software techniques and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of engineering design delegated by senior staff.
  • Attend BIM coordination meetings and report on progress, including via video conference when required.
  • Participate in team meetings, share information, and communicate across teams.
  • Ensure models and details meet required standards in collaboration with the design team.
  • Review models to ensure internal QA procedures are followed.
  • Adapt to workload changes by updating schedules and plans.
  • Use technical and professional judgment guided by company policies and standards.
  • Complete timesheets accurately and timely.
  • Flag resourcing issues and assist colleagues to meet deadlines.
  • Approach sustainability and building modeling with innovation and holistic thinking.
  • Contribute to and challenge technical and construction issues related to design and modeling.

Role Requirements

  • BSc/BEng, BTEC National Diploma in Construction, or equivalent in an engineering discipline (desirable).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, including setting up templates and building parametric libraries.
  • Ability to customize AutoCAD/Revit menus and create MEP parts and libraries.
  • At least 5 years of Revit project experience is desirable.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering design, including HVAC and water services.
  • Experience working in a global context, preferably in Asia Pacific.
  • Knowledge of Singapore standards, BS, NFPA preferred.
  • Self-motivated with good workload prioritization skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of health & safety issues.
  • Proficiency in Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Strong leadership skills with previous team management experience.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle client pressure and a strong desire to deliver quality projects.
  • Adherence to ethical principles and guidelines.
