Designation: BIM/Design Manager

Reports To: Director, Technical

Role Summary:

The BIM/Design Manager leads the design and modeling team in delivering coordinated and production-ready BIM models for precast concrete projects. This role ensures alignment between design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and site requirements, while driving innovation and efficiency in BIM processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the BIM team in developing detailed models and shop drawings for precast elements across multiple projects.
  2. Establish and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and quality control procedures tailored to precast production.
  3. Collaborate with structural engineers, production managers, and site teams to ensure design feasibility and constructability.
  4. Oversee model coordination, clash detection, and integration with project schedules and production timelines.
  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to BIM modelers and junior designers.
  6. Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
  7. Drive continuous improvement in BIM practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM and design management within the precast industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Tekla Structures highly preferred; Revit, Allplan also valuable).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Experience in precast detailing, production workflows, and integrated digital delivery.
