Job summary

Tencent Singapore is seeking a data engineer to own the development and maintenance of data ingestion, data foundation, data warehouse, and reporting for overseas advertising systems. You will optimize big data processing platforms, develop streaming and batch pipelines, and analyze data to improve ad performance across international markets.

Fluent Chinese and English and 3+ years in big data are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above with 3+ years in big data development
• Deep understanding of big data architectures (Hadoop, Spark, Flink)
• Proficient in at least one language (Scala, C++, Go, Java)
• Experience in data development for ads, recommendation, or search domains preferred
• Experience developing or optimizing big data processing platforms preferred
• Strong communication, resilience under pressure, and fast learning
• Fluent bilingual Chinese/English for cross-border collaboration

What the Role Entails

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of data ingestion, data foundation, data warehouse, and reporting for overseas advertising systems.


• Drive performance and cost optimization of big data processing platform components within the overseas advertising ecosystem.


• Develop and optimize streaming data pipelines and batch processing workflows for overseas advertising systems.


• Conduct data analysis on overseas advertising business, identify optimization opportunities for ad performance from data insights, and provide actionable improvement recommendations.

Requirements

Who We Look For

• Bachelor's degree or above, with 3+ years of experience in big data development.


• Deep understanding of big data architectures; proficient in Hadoop, Spark, Flink, ClickHouse, and other distributed computing frameworks.


• Strong coding skills with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Scala, C++, Go, Java).


• Prior experience in data development for ads, recommendation, or search domains is preferred.


• Experience in developing or optimizing big data processing platforms is preferred.


• Proactive, highly self-driven, with strong resilience under pressure and solid communication skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a fast learner.


• Fluent bilingual proficiency (Chinese/English) to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across China HQ and international markets.
