We are looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our drinks store team at The Kanteen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining smooth workflows at the drinks store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Point of Sale (POS) Operations:
- Manage the POS system for processing and recording payments.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all payments are collected correctly and balances are reconciled at the end of each shift.
- Drink Preparation:
- Prepare a variety of drinks, including hot and cold beverages, according to store recipes and standards.
- Operate drink-making equipment (e.g., blenders, espresso machines, soda dispensers efficiently and safely.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items to recommend options to customers.
- Snack Preparation:
- Prepare and serve a selection of light snacks as per store guidelines.
- Ensure food safety standards are met during preparation and serving.
- Equipment and Machine Operation:
- Operate, clean, and maintain drinks store machines and equipment (e.g., ice machines, juicers).
- Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and efficient service to customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Assist in inventory replenishment and report shortages promptly.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness:
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including counters, equipment, and utensils.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient store operations.
- Communicate effectively with the manager regarding operational issues or suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a drinks store, café, or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of handling a POS system.
- Ability to operate and maintain drink preparation equipment.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
