Job description

THK Bloom Enabling Skills for Life Programme (ESLP) is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Interventionist to support the Associate Psychologist in implementing behaviour intervention strategies for trainees with special needs. This role involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team to design, execute, and monitor individualized behaviour intervention plans, ensuring that trainees receive structured and effective support in their vocational and daily living skills training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Associate Psychologist in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and other behavioural intervention programs.
  • Collect and track behavioural data to assess progress and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Conduct small-group or one-on-one intervention sessions for trainees with behavioural needs.
  • Provide crisis management and de-escalation support as required.
  • Work closely with caregivers and instructors to ensure consistency in behaviour management strategies across different settings.
  • Assist in training programme staff on behavioural support techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Document behavioural progress and prepare reports for review by the Associate Psychologist and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment for trainees.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in behaviour intervention, special education, or disability services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other behavioural intervention frameworks is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with trainees, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
  • Proficiency in documenting case notes and intervention plans.
