Job summary

Singapore Airlines Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Controller to join the base maintenance department of SIA Engineering Division. You will drive timely completion of base checks and rectifications in hangar environments, covering Singapore and overseas locations, reporting to the VP Base Maintenance.

The role requires a Licensed Aircraft Engineer with 10 years of base maintenance experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong planning and analytical abilities. IT proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Aircraft Engineer status required.
• At least 10 years of base maintenance experience.
• Strong interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage maintenance checks and rectifications in base hangar environments.
• Attend daily engineering operations meetings and report progress.
• Coordinate with MRO and costing to price work accurately as hangar checks progress.
• Drive continual cost-savings and efficiency improvements in hangar workflows.
• Conduct periodic audits of MRO activities and documentation quality.
• Prepare and share daily progress reports on maintenance checks.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the base maintenance department in SIA Engineering Division. He/she will support the base maintenance functions. Reporting to VP Base Maintenance, the Maintenance Controller is primarily responsible for driving timely completion of maintenance checks and rectifications in a base maintenance hangar environment for SIA and SIA subsidiary airline’s aircraft. This will be inclusive of both maintenance checks that takes place in Singapore or overseas locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with all MROs in managing the preparations, progress of maintenance checks
• Attend the daily engineering operations meeting to report on the progress of each aircraft undergoing maintenance
• Work with MRO and Costing section to determine reasonable charging of work done progressively through the course of a hangar check
• Work on continual improvement projects to bring about maintenance cost-savings and efficiency gain in workflow for hangar checks
• Conduct periodic audits of the MRO to ensure proper completion of maintenance works and accuracy of documentation
• Compile and disseminate daily reports on progress of maintenance checks in base maintenance hangars

Requirements

The candidate should be a Licensed Aircraft Engineer and should have:

• Experience in base maintenance work, preferably 10 yrs experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills as the job requires interaction various user departments
• Excellent planning and organisation skills and be able to work independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good IT skills
