Job summary

VBK TRADERS PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Hair Stylist/Hairdresser to deliver high-quality haircuts, colouring and beard designs. You will consult with clients, perform cutting and coloring techniques, and ensurepremium service during both daily and formal looks.

The role requires strong communication, stamina for long hours, and flexibility to work shifts. You will also manage bookings and recommend hair care solutions to clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hair Stylist/Hairdresser/Colorist or similar role.
• Hands-on scissors cutting; experience with clippers.
• Skilled in a wide range of modern hairstyles including fades and textured looks.
• Proficient in beard designing (various beard styles).
• Experience in hair straightening and curling with hot irons.
• Experience advising clients on facial/hair care products.
• Knowledge of colouring techniques (highlights, balayage, ombre).
• Ability to upsell hair care products and services.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and identify their preferences by asking questions.
• Recommend hairstyles and haircuts based on customers’ face shapes and tastes.
• Wash, rinse and dry hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners.
• Cut, trim and shave hair using professional equipment.
• Apply hair colouring techniques such as highlights and balayage.
• Create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks (braids, ponytails, buns).
• Maintain tidiness of beauty stations and sterilise tools.
• Manage bookings and assist walk-ins.
• Cross-sell hair care products or services when appropriate.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends.
• Exhibit excellent communication and physical stamina; adapt to shift schedules.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work experience as a Hair Stylist, Hairdresser, Colorist or similar role.
• Hands-on experience in Scissors cutting. (Experience in using Clippers).
• Experience in different type of hair cuts and Advanced fade cuts including Taper Fade, Low/High Fade, Temple Fade, Bald/Skin Fade, Afro Fade, Undercut Comb Over Pomp, Messy Textured Top, Modern Pomp + Mid Skin Fade + Hard Part, Disconnected Pompadour, Textured Modern Quiff, Spiky Quiff + Short Sides, Comb Over, Slicked Back, Buzz/Crew Cut, Faux Hawk, Fringe, Side Part, Spiky, Top Knot.
• Proficiency in Beard Designing (Circle/Royale/Goatee/Petite Goatee/Chevron/Stubble/Horseshoe, Stache, MuttonChops, Gunslinger, Chin Strip, Chin Strap Beard designing)
• Proficiency in hair straightening and curling methods, using hot irons and curlers.
• Experience in handling different skin and advising clients with suitable facials and skin care, hair care products.
• Hands-on experience with various colouring techniques.
• Knowledge of a wide range of haircuts, suitable for all hair lengths (e.g. braids and top knots).
• Familiarity with hair treatment products and services, like keratin smoothing.
• Welcoming customers and identifying their preferences by asking pointed questions.
• Recommending hairstyles and haircuts according to customers’ face shapes and tastes.
• Washing, rinsing and drying clients’ hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners (e.g. for oily hair or dry scalps).
• Cut, trim and shave hair using professional equipment.
• Apply a wide range of hair colouring techniques, like highlights, ombre and balayage.
• Create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails and buns.
• Apply hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. colour protection creams and hydrating masks).
• Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences.
• Manage bookings and serve walk-ins.
• Ensure tidiness of beauty stations and sterilise tools, as needed.
