Job description

Paradox Singapore is seeking a Banquet Manager to plan the execution of assigned banquet events to ensure optimum performance, superior guest service, and maximum profitability of all functions.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the day-to-day set up, ensuring that all settings meet the entire requirements from guests based on the Banquet Event Orders (BEO).

  • Delegate and organize the team to ensure efficient and productive work is completed to execute the banquet function seamlessly.

  • Ensure all events have sufficient manpower to cope with the day-to-day operations.

  • Monitor operational stocks, ensuring that all supplies are sufficient, and requisitions are raised promptly.

  • Continuously build a strong pool of part timers to support operations as needed.

  • Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function spaces, public areas, and service areas.

  • Responsible for meeting up with event organizers and hosts to liaise on the program flow and details, ensuring success and smooth execution of event.

  • Liaise with the clients to consider any changes to the events such as guest numbers, allergies, dietary requirements, or presentation changes.

  • Review the logbooks and guest comments daily and rectify any challenges in terms of operations.

  • Conduct daily Banquet department meetings and training sessions regularly to ensure that all staff are well equipped to carry out their job functions.

  • Ensure the attractiveness of display carts or display of F&B items at the banquet functions by providing aesthetic decorations and display for every event.

  • Attend to all VIP guests attending events and functions.

  • Maintain a good relationship with guests.

  • Handle guests’ complaints and feedback as appropriate and follow up.

  • Feedback to the Superior of any operational problems and recommend solutions to the problems.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Culinary team to understand upcoming events and their catering, service, and meals requirements.

  • Assist Superior to supervise and manage the performance of the Banquet department. Assist the Superior to facilitate the annual performance management.

  • Assist Superior in the implementation of the specific objectives and strategies to achieve and maintain high standards, quality, and maximum profitability.

  • Achieve (or exceed) set standards, monthly budget targets and keep the brand promise. This includes promoting the revenue generation initiatives and managing all sectional expenses.

  • Assist Superior in implementing business plans.

  • Attend daily Department Head briefing and monthly F&B meetings and contribute positively in the absence of Superior.

  • Involved in staff control and handling people issues.

  • Perform store-level support functions including customer service, maintenance, repair, cleaning, re- stocking scheduling, day-to-day operations, cashiering, loss prevention and back-office support.

  • Manage the purchase (or request), set-up, storage, maintenance and use of all resources, programmes and systems.

  • Ensure the security of all monies and financial transactions.

  • Ensure proper storage of inventory and equipment.

  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Management.

What we're looking for
