Job summary

INITIA GROUP is seeking a Bakery Retail Assistant in Central Singapore. This entry-level role involves serving customers, processing payments, and supporting daily bakery operations in a friendly, efficient manner.

The successful candidate will handle orders, maintain clean displays, and coordinate with bakers to ensure stock availability. Training is provided; rotating shifts include weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification, or willingness to obtain it before joining.
• Able to communicate in basic English to serve customers and understand workplace instructions.
• Friendly, customer-oriented and comfortable interacting with customers.
• Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, attend to enquiries, and provide recommendations on bakery products.
• Take customer orders, operate the cash register and POS system, and process payments accurately.
• Pack bakery products, prepare takeaway orders, and ensure proper handling and presentation of items.
• Restock and arrange bakery products on display shelves, ensuring products are properly presented, labelled, and replenished.
• Coordinate with bakers and the production team on daily stock requirements, product availability, replenishment, and incoming goods.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bakery, including counters, display shelves, service areas, and dining spaces where applicable.
• Ensure bakery products are properly displayed, stored, and handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor product freshness and display conditions, and promptly report expired, damaged, or unsatisfactory items to the supervisor.
• Assist with daily opening and closing duties, including preparation of the shop, cleaning, and stock checks.
• Work collaboratively with the bakery and service team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive customer experience.
