Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the backend engineering team, driving high-quality development and strategic technical planning.
• Take an active role in system architecture design, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across services.
• Own the development and optimisation of core features, tackling complex technical problems and fostering innovation.
• Design and maintain robust backend systems, including microservices, distributed architectures, and high-performance APIs.
• Oversee code quality through regular reviews, provide technical mentorship, and implement best practices across the team.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and AI teams to ensure smooth and efficient cross-functional execution.
• Coach and support team members in developing their technical capabilities and enhancing productivity.
• Stay abreast of backend technology trends and identify opportunities to adopt cutting-edge tools and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years in a team leadership role (team size: 3–8).
• Strong command of Golang and proven expertise in building microservices, distributed systems, and high-performance backend services.
• Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) with a focus on optimisation.
• Experience deploying and managing services on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Skilled in handling large-scale data processing and high-concurrency system design.
• Fluent in English (native-level) with conversational Mandarin for effective collaboration across regions.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of guiding teams and delivering results.
• Passionate about technology, with a growth mindset and a keen interest in the AI space.
