Job summary

TikTok is inviting PhD interns to join our Recommendation Architecture Team in 2026. The internship focuses on building and optimizing the architecture of the recommendation system to provide a stable, high-availability experience for users.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science, engineering or quantitative field.
• Strong research background in NLP, CV, data modeling, or algorithms is preferred.
• Excellent programming abilities with solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms; C/C++ for traditional coding, Python for intelligent coding.

Responsibilities

• Work on strategy management and optimization for recommendation systems.
• Assist adaptive tuning, fault diagnosis, and cross-domain data processing.
• Contribute to data storage, quality enhancement, and scalable computing frameworks.
• Help develop a multimodal data framework and an ecosystem centered on Python.
• Collaborate with algorithm engineers, data analysts, and PMs to drive innovation in e-commerce generative recommendations.
• Commit to at least 3 months internship; rolling review process.
