Epiq AI Labs is building a scalable backend stack for its AI-driven legal platform. You will own end-to-end services, including asynchronous processing, data pipelines, and authentication, with a strong emphasis on reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating backend services in production.
• Proficiency in Python, and ability to work primarily in Python.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Relational databases knowledge including schema design and migrations (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with asynchronous processing and message queues.
• REST API design and implementation experience.
• Familiarity with containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Observability with metrics, logs, and tracing.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and operate backend services and APIs for our AI platform.
• Build and maintain asynchronous processing with reliable retry and idempotency.
• Contribute to data pipelines ingesting and indexing large document volumes.
• Implement OAuth2/OIDC/SAML authentication in multi-tenant environments.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and migrations in production traffic.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and security stakeholders.
