Job summary

Tech Aalto is seeking a Backend Engineer to build Python-based backend systems that process IFC files and support AI-powered BIM workflows. You will deploy on AWS, implement IaC with Terraform, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.

The role requires strong Python skills, PostgreSQL experience, and a willingness to learn BIM/IFC concepts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable backend solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Python proficiency and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development pipelines and BIM/IFC concepts.
• Experience deploying on AWS and building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Knowledge of Terraform and DevOps best practices for scalable backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services.
• Process and validate IFC file data reliably and efficiently.
• Support AI-assisted engineering workflows and review generated code for quality.
• Implement and manage cloud deployments on AWS.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Ensure backend solutions are secure, maintainable, and scalable.
