Job summary

Helius Technologies is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our delivery teams across Asia, focusing on on-premises to cloud migrations, automation, and governance. You will implement and support Azure infrastructure, networks, security, and reliability with IaC using Terraform, collaborating with architects and delivery leads to ensure successful migrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor1s degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
• 68 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting Azure infrastructure.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform and DevOps tooling.
• Experience supporting cloud migration projects.
• Strong understanding of virtualization, IAM, monitoring and operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure components based on approved designs.
• Build and manage services including Virtual Networks, NSGs, Route Tables, Load Balancers and Application Gateways.
• Storage Accounts and Backup services; implement enterprise standards and governance.
• Support and execute migration of workloads from on-premises to Azure; perform environment setup, validation and testing.
• Implement IaC with Terraform; maintain deployment pipelines and reusable modules.
• Monitor cloud performance, apply patches, perform lifecycle maintenance and ensure backup & recovery.
• Apply enterprise security controls and governance; configure Entra ID, RBAC, network segmentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application and security teams; provide technical input during migration planning.

Role Overview

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on on-premises to cloud migration and automation.

This role delivers hands-on technical execution across cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and operational readiness while working closely with cloud architects and programme teams to ensure successful migration and stable operations. The Cloud Engineer is expected to independently deliver technical tasks and contribute to improving automation, standardisation, and operational efficiency.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting Azure infrastructure.
• Hands-on proficiency in operating Terraform & DevOps tools
• Experience supporting cloud migration projects.
• Strong understanding of:
• Virtualisation and compute platforms
• Identity and access management
• Monitoring and operational practices.

Preferred Certifications

• Azure Solutions Architect Associate/Expert (advantageous).
• Terraform or automation tooling experience.
• ITIL Foundation (advantageous).

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure components based on approved designs.
• Build and manage services including:

2. Migration Execution

• Support and execute migration of workloads from on-premises environments to Azure.
• Perform environment setup, configuration, validation, and testing.
• Support migration waves and cutover activities.
• Troubleshoot migration‑related issues and coordinate fixes with relevant teams.

3. Automation & Infrastructure as Code

• Implement infrastructure using IaC tools such as:
• Terraform (Primary focus)
• Maintain reusable infrastructure modules and deployment pipelines.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency and consistency.

4. Cloud Operations & Reliability

• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and availability.
• Support incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Ensure backup, recovery, and monitoring solutions are operational.

5. Security & Governance Implementation

• Apply enterprise security controls and policies.
• Configure identity and access management (Entra ID, RBAC).
• Implement network segmentation and security controls.
• Ensure deployed resources comply with governance standards.

6. Collaboration & Technical Support

• Work closely with:
• Infrastructure teams
• Application teams
• Security teams
• Provide technical input during migration planning and implementation.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and operational guides.
