Job Description

We are seeking a candidate to fill the responsibilities of being a senior member (B5) of a multi-functional team covering Stock Loan Middle Office, Syndicate Operations & Reconciliations. Products covered include: Listed (Equities, Futures, and Options), and Over-the-Counter (Swaps, Derivatives) for Global Clients trading in APAC markets. This is a role which offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. The candidate needs to be quantitative, analytical, proactive, a strong team player, able to work under pressure with tight timelines/high volumes, and has excellent attention to detail. The APAC Securities Lending function is responsible for day-to-day support of the APAC Securities Lending (SBL) desks. Daily activities focus on trade support functions such as trade bookings, position management and optimization, collateral management, and the reconciliation of cash and securities positions. The successful candidate would operate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, interacting closely with business counterparts and colleagues across operations to ensure smooth operational processing. Understanding of IPOs/Block Trades/Equity & Debt Issuance is a plus.

The candidate should have proven front-to-back equities lifecycle experience operating in Global Markets. This is a Middle Office role, and the candidate must demonstrate a front-to-back understanding of the products together with the functions and lifecycle within Middle Office. Familiarity with APAC market nuances is essential. Given that this is a senior BAU role, the candidate can also expect exposure to project contributions and strategic initiatives. Basic team management exposure may also be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of day-to-day securities lending transactional processing for APAC markets, including reconciliations.
  • Trade bookings, amendments, and exceptions processing.
  • Position management and asset optimization.
  • Management of counterparty exposure.
  • Fails and inventory management.
  • Supporting business growth by working closely with front office, technology, and global operations teams.
  • Supporting a risk-focused culture by anticipating risks and escalating appropriately.
  • Continuously questioning process inefficiencies and implementing improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of investment banking experience, preferably in trade support or settlements.
  • Good understanding of the trade lifecycle and interactions between stakeholders, with experience in APAC markets, settlements, and reconciliations preferred.
  • Quantitative, analytical, proactive, able to work under pressure with high volumes and tight deadlines, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong team player, collaborative, and able to contribute to team goals.
  • Control and risk-focused, capable of independently solving problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Some people management skills are beneficial.
  • Degree qualification is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Alteryx, AI, or Robotics is a plus but not required.
