What impact can you make in this role?

As AVP/VP, Employee Communications, you will help shape how GIC communicates internally — turning complex ideas into clear, engaging stories that inspire and inform employees globally. You’ll strengthen connection and alignment across offices, enhance digital engagement, and use data and technology to elevate how we communicate as one GIC.

What will you do as a AVP/VP, Employee Communications?

Reporting to the Head of Employee Communications, you will be part of the Global Corporate Affairs and Communications team. You will plan and deliver internal communications content and campaigns across multiple channels and events. Your role will include:

  • Develop and deliver internal content and campaigns — Plan, draft, and publish high‑quality communications across channels such as newsletters, Yammer, and enterprise campaigns. Shape leadership messages, event materials, and storytelling that connect employees to GIC’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Enhance and manage the OneGIC intranet — Partner with the intranet lead to curate engaging content, manage homepage and news updates, design and layout articles on the site, and ensure the platform remains dynamic, user‑friendly, and aligned with GIC’s tone and digital content standards.
  • Launch and enhance internal communication channels — Work closely with technology teams to improve existing digital platforms and launch new solutions features that strengthen employee engagement globally, streamline content delivery, and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Manage the internal communications ecosystem and calendar — Oversee the planning and coordination of content across all internal channels, including the intranet, newsletters, digital screens, physical spaces, and events, ensuring cohesive messaging, consistent cadence, and optimal use of each platform for departments to reach employees effectively.
  • Lead enterprise‑wide initiatives — Support major internal campaigns and events, from concept development to post‑event storytelling.
  • Drive global alignment and engagement — Cascade key enterprise messages through toolkits, rollout guides, and briefing materials that enable regional teams to communicate effectively, while driving initiatives and content that strengthen connection, participation, and a unified culture across GIC’s global offices.
  • Enhance impact through data and AI — Use channels analytics to uncover insights that drive smarter communication decisions, and apply AI tools to boost efficiency, personalise content, and deepen employee engagement.
  • Collaborate across teams — Liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver best‑in‑class content, manage end‑to‑end workflows, and ensure alignment, quality, and consistency across all internal communications initiatives.
What makes you a successful candidate?
  • Minimum of 6–10 years of relevant experience in communications disciplines, with dedicated experience in internal or employee communications.
  • Background in financial services preferred.
  • Proven experience managing internal communication channels, including intranet and newsletter platforms, with a strong track record of creating engaging, high‑impact content.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems and an understanding of UI/UX ideal.
  • Ability to think laterally and apply AI and digital tools creatively to solve communication gaps and challenges, enhance processes, and improve technology‑driven workflows.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills, with expertise in structuring news and storytelling for internal audiences, supported by sound research and critical thinking.
  • Keen attention to detail and editorial judgment, capable of reviewing content critically and ensuring alignment with GIC’s tone and standards.
  • Ability to connect the dots across enterprise initiatives teams, synthesising information and perspectives to craft cohesive, enterprise‑level narratives that reinforce alignment and shared purpose.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
