SMBC Group seeks an experienced client-facing banking professional to promote cash management solutions for Japanese corporate clients across the APAC region.

You will build strong relationships with major Japanese customers, lead discussions, and present tailored solutions while coordinating with Japan HQ and regional teams. Fluency in English and Japanese is essential, with strong communication and project leadership skills.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Promote cash management solutions to Japanese corporate clients in the APAC region to grow SMBC’s Transaction Banking business.
• Build and maintain relationships with Japanese corporate clients and anticipate their requirements through consultative selling to increase wallet share.
• Make periodic visits to assigned countries, visit clients, lead transaction banking discussions, and present solutions.
• Interact with Headquarters in Japan and overseas branches to analyze opportunities and strategize sales activities.
• Prepare presentation materials and proposals in both Japanese and English, including translation where required.
• Coordinate with Product Development and Product Management to share client requirements and develop solutions.
• Submit reports, including monthly reports, business trip reports, and call reports.
• Understand market trends and customer requirements, contributing to product development and service improvements.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to the growth of SMBC’s Transaction Banking business through the promotion of cash management solutions to Japanese corporate clients in the APAC region.

• Build and maintain relationships with Japanese corporate clients and anticipate their requirements through consultative selling to increase SMBC’s wallet share.

• Make periodic visits to assigned countries, visit clients, lead transaction banking discussions, and present solutions.

• Interact with Headquarters in Japan and overseas branches (Relationship Managers and in-country sales teams), analyze transaction banking opportunities, and strategize sales activities collaboratively.

• Prepare presentation materials and proposals in both Japanese and English, including translation where required.

• Coordinate internally with Product Development and Product Management teams to share client requirements and feedback, and develop appropriate solutions.

• Submit reports, including monthly reports, business trip reports, and call reports.

• Understand market trends and customer requirements, and contribute to the development and improvement of the bank’s products and service

Job Requirements

• Strong working experience in customer banking operations, systems, and back-end operations.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with large corporate customers and internal IT and Operations departments.

• Familiarity with market trends and regulations across Asia.

• At least 5 years of banking experience is essential.

• Ability to interact with customers at all levels, from junior staff to senior management.

• Strong customer-centric mindset.

• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills in English are required for effective engagement with external clients and collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Fluency in Japanese is also essential, as the role involves extensive interaction with Headquarters in Japan and Japanese-speaking stakeholders, with meetings and business communications conducted primarily in Japanese.

• Ability to lead projects and initiatives while working with various internal stakeholders.
