The Japan Research Institute, Ltd. (JRI) Singapore is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead APAC data onboarding and governance initiatives.

You will drive onboarding from head office to regional sources, coordinate cross-functional teams, and shape the data platform strategy to enable analytics and AI-driven use cases. Ideal candidates will have 10 years in IT project management, strong experience in architecture, governance, and collaboration, and a security-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with around 10 years of IT project management experience.
• Proven experience in solution architecture and design for IT systems.
• Proven experience in collaboration and workgroup for project delivery.
• In-depth knowledge of project management and business analysis.
• Knowledge of security and vulnerability-based approaches to security hardening.

The Japan Research Institute (JRI) Limited is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Group. JRI provides comprehensive, highly value-added information services through the coordinated application of its 3 functions i.e. information systems, consulting and think-tank. As a system integrator, JRI offers services in IT strategy planning, implementation and outsourcing to a broad range of industries and activities. JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

1. Data Onboarding Strategy and Delivery

• Develop and maintain the APAC data onboarding roadmap aligned with business priorities and platform strategy.
• Lead onboarding initiatives for Head Office, regional, and local source systems into the APAC Data Hub.
• Coordinate end-to-end onboarding activities including requirements gathering, prioritization, planning, and execution.
• Manage project delivery, including schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies.

2. Stakeholder Management and Coordination

• Act as the primary liaison between APAC, SMBC/JRI Head Office, Global BizTech teams, and business stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions to align data sourcing priorities, requirements, and delivery plans.
• Build strong relationships with system owners, data owners, and external vendors to ensure successful onboarding and adoption.
• Drive consensus and resolve cross-functional issues across multiple organizations and regions.

3. Data Governance and Data Management

• Support the establishment and adoption of data governance standards, policies, and controls.
• Ensure onboarded data assets meet quality, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote proper data cataloging, metadata management, and ownership models.
• Collaborate with governance teams to improve data transparency and usability across APAC.

4. Data Platform and Business Enablement

• Contribute to the evolution of the APAC data platform leveraging Databricks and related technologies.
• Identify and promote opportunities for data analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases.
• Support business users in maximizing the value of onboarded data assets.
• Drive initiatives that enhance data accessibility, reuse, and self-service capabilities.

5. Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor onboarding progress, platform adoption, and value realization.
• Develop recommendations to improve operating models, processes, and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide regular management updates on roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and achievements.
• Contribute to the long-term APAC data strategy and transformation initiatives.
