A leading bank in Singapore is seeking an Operational Risk Specialist to enhance operational resilience and manage risk governance across operations. The role involves leading risk reviews, establishing dashboards, and driving initiatives to improve risk management effectiveness. Ideal candidates will have a strong analytical background and proven experience in operational risk within banking or finance.
Job Purpose:
We are looking for an Operational Risk Specialist to be an integral member of the Ops COO - Operational Risk Management team, primarily responsible for managing Risk and Control Governance Forumsin collaboration with the key cross functional/locational stakeholders, with the aim to drive improvements in key risk focus areas and operational resilience and mitigate potential risks in Group Operations.The incumbent will need to lead and perform risk reviews, establish risk metrics and dashboards in Risk Control Tower, facilitate risk decisions/approvals from Ops senior management, as well as drive initiatives/projects to uplift resiliency and operational effectiveness in Group Operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide support to the management of Risk and Control Governance Forums
Manage risk governance and oversight through risk forums; ensure effectiveness through defining agenda by engaging key cross functional/locational stakeholders
·Enable/facilitate key risk decisions/approval process on key risk areas.
Identify key risks and assess key risks focus areas
Analyse risk profile of Operations units which involves reviewing risk metrics, risk events, audit results etc with the aim to identify recurring risk themes/risk concerns
Perform risk reviews and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to identify initiatives on mitigation plans.
Lead, design and drive establishment of risk landscapes/dashboards/metrics into risk control tower
Design and drive establishment of risk metrics across Operations units to enable review of key risk profiles and positions through automation and data visualisation.
Enhance metrics reporting through data visualisation techniques.
Lead or participate in Operational Risk Management Initiatives/Projects
Lead or participate in initiatives/projects contributing to improvements in risk and control and quality involving multiple stakeholders.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience in an Operations or Operational risk management role, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
Ability to manage, influence and communicate effectively with different stakeholders
Ability to adapt quicklyin a dynamic and fast changing environment and and keep pace with rapid changes in business
Strong analytical skills to review and analyse data,savvy with usage of data visualisation tools eg Qlikview or Tableau
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel and Powerpoint
