Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking a highly skilled AVP Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our critical enterprise network infrastructure in the Central Region. This role emphasizes reliability, security, and high performance across routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6–8 years of network engineering experience in large enterprise or financial environments.
• Strong TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, BGP knowledge and routing/switching expertise.
• Experience with firewalls and security best practices in banking context.
• CCNP/CCIE preferred; effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities* Design, configure, install, and troubleshoot network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.* Monitor network performance, identify and resolve network issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages and optimize network efficiency.* Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.* Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect sensitive banking data and systems.* Participate in network capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations to support business growth and technological advancements.* Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., systems, security, applications) to ensure seamless integration and operation of banking systems.* Provide technical support and guidance to internal users on network-related issues.* Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and security threats.* Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents outside of business hours.Job Requirements* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.* Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in network engineering, preferably within a large enterprise or financial institution.* Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies (e.g., CCNP/CCIE certification preferred), Cisco Wireless, ISE and Catalyast Center.* Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet).* Experience with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).* Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, and other networking protocols.* Knowledge of network security principles and practices.* Experience with load balancing solutions (e.g., F5 Big-IP).* Experience with Cisco SDA is a plus.* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.* Strong commitment to security and compliance.## **Additional Requirements**Be a Part of the UOB FamilyUOB is an equal opportunity employer.
