A leading company in Singapore is seeking an IT Operations manager to oversee IT support and cybersecurity functions. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, a Bachelor's degree in IT, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Ideal candidates will be proficient in managing hardware, cloud platforms, and demonstrate a customer-service mindset while ensuring data security compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
A. IT Operations and Support
With the support of IT managed services vendor, provide day-to-day IT support to all staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, VPN, file servers).
Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure, including servers, cloud services and network performance.
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures and system configurations.
Recommend and/or evaluate the adoption of new technologies to improve efficiency and security.
Maintain register of IT fixed assets and user licenses.
Support staff onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective.
Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for specialized support and IT procurement.
Develop and maintain a framework and system for tracking vendor selection criteria, contracts and SLAs.
B. Cyber Security and Risk Management
Manage the outsourced IT SOC team and its incident monitoring reporting and resolutions service.
Ensure data security and compliance with best practices, including regular backups, patch management, and endpoint protection.
Coordinate the annual IT audit/ risk assessment cycle. Work with the appointed auditor/professional firm to define the scope of audit and manage the end-to-end process. Work with the relevant vendors and internal stakeholders to implement measures to mitigate risks.
Manage the external cybersecurity training platform, which includes selection of the training modules and their frequencies, implementing phishing campaigns via the platform, and monitoring the cybersecurity maturity score of users against industry standards to report on the usefulness of training.
Work with the IT managed services vendor and/or other external professional firm in testing out IT disaster recovery plan.
Coordinate with external vendors for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing exercises to be carried out periodically.
C. Others
1. Prepare quarterly updates for IT department to be reported to management.
2. Participate in strategic IT/ business systems/ digital transformation projects. Where applicable, lead specific work streams to implement technology solutions that are in line with the Company’s digital transformation roadmap.
3. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a professional consulting/ financial services/ family office environment.
Working knowledge of infrastructure and systems management, various operating systems, software development practices, application lifecycle management and cyber security principles and practices.
Proficiency in managing hardware components and end-user devices, including mobile devices.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and remote access tools.
Experience with the setup and maintenance of data terminals / platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG).
IT project (new system evaluation to implementation) management experience a plus.
Basic scripting skills and knowledge in RPA/ AI / automation tools (e.g., JAVA, PowerShell, Python) a strong plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-service mindset.
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
