Job description

As a Barclays Assistant Vice President - FIG Corporate Banking, you will be part of the International Corporate Banking (ICB), accountable for supporting large global Multinational Corporations and Financial Institutions with their banking requirements. The primary product set consists of cash management, liquidity, trade and working capital finance, asset finance, and foreign exchange. You will work as one global team, in a fully integrated manner, with relationship directors covering clients both at a parental and subsidiary level.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?

  • Assisting the Head of FI and Head of NBFI for APAC+ME in delivering sector outcomes including growth and strategy setting
  • Working on Business development activities
  • Engaging with the sector heads to develop and implement a focused relationship, marketing and sales strategy for Banks and Non-banks in the region
  • Implementing Barclays governance and control policies and procedures effectively
  • Promoting cross-sell opportunities across Banking and Markets
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders across the business including, but not limited to, sector heads in other regions as well as transaction banking colleagues

What we’re looking for:

  • Good knowledge of Financial Institutions (FI and NBFI) Transactions banking products is preferred
  • The ability to identify market needs and work with a team to develop cutting-edge solutions to position Barclays as a market leader
  • Good planning, organization, and communication skills to help deliver agreed and decided strategic outcomes for the sectors
  • Team Player – ability to work in a Matrix organization across different cultures with good communication, people, and presentation skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Exceptional business acumen with a broad knowledge of macro issues related to financing services industry
  • Have demonstrable experience that such knowledge has successfully been used in a sales environment
  • Ability to network effectively both internally and externally and maintain/develop relationships with all stakeholders
