The Transformation Group reports to the Group Head of Strategy and Planning (GSP), supporting the CEO and senior management in implementing the Group's strategic agenda. The Technology and Operations Data Chapter (T&O DC) aims to lead and support Operations and Technology stakeholders towards becoming an AI-Fueled support unit.
About the Role
The Data Analyst / Data Translator plays a key role in building the data ecosystem and driving analytical requirements to support Operations in their transformation and process improvement journeys. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders within and outside Operations to promote data-optimized decision-making to achieve business goals and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within Operations to identify business opportunities, analyze data insights, and develop analytics products and recommendations.
- Gather, understand, document user requirements, and propose feasible analytics solutions.
- Assess and quantify the business impact of analytics solutions.
- Perform data profiling, analysis, and metadata-driven ingestion of structured and unstructured data, adhering to governance standards.
- Design, develop, and implement analytics solutions through reports and dashboards.
- Lead a squad by coordinating tasks, ensuring deadlines, supporting team members, and liaising with management.
- Develop and deploy analytics solutions for operational improvements and risk mitigation.
- Create and maintain visualization dashboards (QlikView/Tableau) with a focus on user experience.
- Work with subject matter experts and data science teams to align business needs with data solutions.
- Coordinate with platform and technical partners to deliver analytics that generate business impact.
- Enhance our in-house data platform by integrating data from various sources for deeper analysis.
- Manage projects supporting Operations' transformational initiatives.
- Document data processes, standards, and best practices for the BI team.
- Drive the business intelligence roadmap, balancing tactical and strategic analysis requests.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop analytics strategies and present data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Share best practices and data requirements with Operations partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in banking or financial services, preferably in a data analyst role.
- Proficiency in SQL/Python and data visualization tools (QlikView, Tableau).
- Experience with object-oriented scripting languages such as Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, Scala is advantageous.
- Knowledge of relational databases and cloud computing is beneficial.
- Experience with SDLC frameworks, including Jenkins, is a plus.
- Familiarity with metadata-driven ingestion and compute frameworks.
- Leadership experience in project teams and collaboration with Data Analysts/BI teams.
- Experience in process improvements, project management, and change management is advantageous.
- Strong business acumen to prioritize stakeholder needs and facilitate effective analysis.
- Leadership capacity to represent the team in strategic reviews and cross-functional events.
