The Transformation Group reports to the Group Head of Strategy and Planning (GSP), supporting the CEO and senior management in implementing the Group's strategic agenda. It collaborates across geographies to drive strategic initiatives. The Technology and Operations Data Chapter (T&O DC) aims to lead and support Operations and Technology stakeholders towards becoming an AI-fueled support unit.
About the Role
The Data Analyst / Data Translator plays a key role in building the data ecosystem and supporting analytical requirements to aid Operations in transformation and process improvements. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to promote data-optimized decision-making aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify business opportunities, derive insights, and develop analytics products and recommendations.
- Gather, document, and understand user requirements; propose feasible analytics solutions.
- Assess and quantify the business impact of analytics solutions.
- Conduct data profiling, analysis, and metadata-driven ingestion of structured and unstructured data, ensuring adherence to data governance standards.
- Design, develop, and implement analytical reports and solutions.
- Lead squads by coordinating tasks, ensuring deadlines, supporting team members, and liaising with management.
- Develop and deploy analytics solutions for operational improvement and risk mitigation.
- Create dashboards (QlikView/Tableau) to enable self-service analytics, emphasizing good UX design.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and data science teams to align business needs with data solutions.
- Coordinate with technical partners for successful analytics delivery and organizational impact.
- Enhance the in-house data platform by integrating data from various sources for deeper analysis.
- Manage projects supporting Operations' transformational journeys.
- Maintain documentation of data processes, standards, and best practices.
- Drive BI roadmap, prioritize analysis requests balancing tactical and strategic needs.
- Work with senior management to develop strategies, present analyses, and provide data-driven insights for business improvements.
- Share best practices and data needs with Operations partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of work experience, with 4+ years relevant in banking or financial industries, especially in business/data analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL/Python and data visualization tools like QlikView and Tableau.
- Experience with object-oriented scripting languages such as Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, Scala is advantageous.
- Knowledge of relational databases and cloud computing is advantageous.
- Experience with SDLC frameworks, including Jenkins, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with metadata-driven data ingestion and compute frameworks.
- Experience leading project teams and collaborating with Data Analysts/BI teams.
- Background in process improvements, project management, and change management is advantageous.
- Strong business acumen to prioritize stakeholder needs and promote effective analysis.
- Leadership capacity to represent the team in strategy reviews and cross-functional events.
