Job description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reviews and analysis of credit risk assessments.

  • Perform independent and impartial credit risk analysis of existing and potential borrowers, focusing on creditworthiness and repayment capability.

  • Prepare and present annual and quarterly "Credit Review" reports to Branch Senior Management for existing and potential customers within the stipulated framework.

  • Support credit rating applications proposed by the Credit Investment Department.

  • Prepare monthly reports for Branch Senior Management, including updates on financial statement disclosures, receipt, and completion of Credit Reviews and CRR reviews within required timelines, in accordance with Head Office and branch policies and procedures.

  • Compile monthly self-review checklists to report the department’s work schedule to Branch Senior Management.

  • Prepare financial and non-financial covenants reports quarterly and monthly, verifying individual covenants certificates provided by agent banks.

  • Liaise with Head Office on credit control matters, including communication via email or telephone as needed.

  • Organize Credit Committee meetings, including proposal presentations and monthly meetings.

  • Draft and circulate minutes of meetings, maintaining original documents and related materials.

  • Conduct research and produce reports on credit issues relevant to the branch’s credit portfolio.

  • Assist, train, and oversee junior or new colleagues to ensure smooth department operations.

  • Support the department’s shift from mechanistic compliance to fostering a culture of accountability and good conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • At least 3-4 years of credit analyst experience in the corporate or commercial banking industry, with experience in writing credit papers (preferably in commercial banking).

  • Relevant lending experience.
