Job summary

A leading automotive company in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician for the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles, particularly electric buses. The role involves conducting repairs, ensuring the safety and performance of vehicle systems, and requires relevant qualifications and practical experience in the automotive trade. Candidates should be team players and have a passion for automotive technology.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in automotive trade, heavy vehicle repair, and maintenance is preferred.
  • Possession of relevant work licenses (e.g., WAH, Rigger & Signalman, Forklift, Singapore Driving Class 3/4) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance services and repairs of heavy vehicles such as buses.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electric vehicle components.
  • Manage and maintain high-voltage battery systems.
  • Update and calibrate the vehicle's control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Job description

  1. Responsible for conducting maintenance services and repairs of heavy vehicles such as buses.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electric vehicle components to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  3. Manage and maintain high-voltage battery systems, including monitoring battery health, balancing cells, and conducting capacity tests.
  4. Update and calibrate the vehicle's control systems, ensuring they operate with the latest software for optimal performance.
  5. Ensure all electrical systems and components comply with safety standards and regulations set by relevant authorities.
  6. Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and inspections performed on each vehicle.
  7. Ensure work bays, workstations, and hand tools are maintained and organized satisfactorily.
  8. Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification & Experience:

  1. ITE NTC 3/2 or Nitec in Automotive Technology (Heavy Vehicle).
  2. 2-3 years of experience in automotive trade, heavy vehicle repair, and maintenance is preferred.
  3. Experience operating common workshop tools (e.g., air jack, hoist, wheel balancing machine).
  4. Team player.
  5. Possession of relevant work licenses (e.g., WAH, Rigger & Signalman, Forklift, Singapore Driving Class 3/4) is an advantage.
