Install GPS tracking and telematics systems in commercial and personal vehicles.
Configure and calibrate GPS devices, ensuring proper operation and connectivity.
Diagnose and repair issues related to GPS hardware or software functionality.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on installed systems.
Collaborate with service advisors, fleet managers, or end users to ensure needs are met.
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and service calls.
Stay current on new GPS technologies and best practices.
Follow company safety protocols and industry standards for installation and repair.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electronics or automotive technology is a plus.
2+ years of experience in GPS installation, automotive electronics, or a related field.
Familiarity with 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for GPS systems.
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Willingness to travel locally to customer sites or fleet locations as needed.
Experience with fleet management systems (e.g., Geotab, Verizon Connect, Samsara, etc.).
Basic networking or IT troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of CAN bus systems and OBD-II protocols.
Field and shop-based work environment.
Exposure to vehicle interiors, engines, and electronic components.
May involve standing, crouching, and working in confined spaces.
Occasional travel may be required.
Hold a valid Class 3 Driver's License
Ideal candidate have hands-on experience w/ veh electrical systems, strong understanding of GPS hardware/software, & excellent diagnostic skills.
