Job summary

A leading company in the automation industry seeks an Automation Support Engineer to provide expertise in troubleshooting and maintenance of systems in a pharmaceutical environment. The successful candidate will manage preventive maintenance, support PLC programming, and ensure operational efficiency through effective diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical/nutritional/food/beverage manufacturing.
• Able to perform troubleshooting on different types of PLC programming.
• Good knowledge of field instrumentations and ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for support on the Automation System and perform fault finding.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and update Job Aids.
• Execute work orders and record tasks via Maximo System.

Job description

Responsibilities

· Responsible for providing support on the Automation System.

· To attend and carry out fault finding, diagnosis and recovery of systems from breakdowns.

· To perform routine preventive maintenance as scheduled by maintenance planner.

· Responsible for updating and create Job Aids as and when is needed.

· Responsible to carry instrument calibration and troubleshooting.

· Responsible to perform backup and restore machine program.

· To execute work order and record job performed via Maximo System.

Requirements

· ITC/ Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma from Control/ Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation Engineering or related disciplines

· 3 years of experience working in pharmaceutical/nutritional/food/beverage manufacturing facility and automation food processing

· Ability to perform troubleshooting and work on difference types of PLC programming language (Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RS Logix, B&R automation).

· Good knowledge on field instrumentations (temperature & pressure transmitter, control valve)

· Able to perform simple instrument calibration and troubleshooting.

· Read and Interpret maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, work orders, process and instrumentation (P&ID) diagram and electrical schematics to perform required maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting

· Familiar with PLC control component, ability to carry out hardware replacement and minor software modification.

· Good knowledge on field bus system (Profibus DP/PA, deviceNet, IO Link)

· Ability to work with limited supervision

· Experience in PLC language: Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell RS Logix 5000/500

· Experience in SCADA/HMI System: GE Proficy iFix, Proficy Batch, Siemens WinCC, Wonderware InTouch, FactoryTalk
