Job description

Position Summary

The Automation System Engineer is responsible for providing technical support in the field of Automation, implementing actions to ensure stable automation systems, including activities related to maintenance, yield improvement, and machine troubleshooting. Additionally, the role involves assisting in system data management, updating/revising work-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and exploring new solutions or replacements for existing Automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and scheduling system and transportation equipment.
  • Provide 24/7 support for Automation System issues as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in automation systems.
  • Provide training and development for technicians or AEs on the automation system.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for automation systems.
  • Actively participate in capital projects related to facilities, utilities, equipment, and system integration.
  • Identify equipment failures within automation systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for identified equipment system failures.
  • Recommend solutions to technical issues based on root cause analysis.
  • Generate test plans and procedures for system engineering design.
  • Manage installation, checkout, integration, and testing when implementing new projects.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests for implemented new projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends relevant to business objectives.
  • Prepare and clean raw data for analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability, and transforming it into a usable format for further processing.
  • Explore and implement methods to enhance data quality, addressing issues such as inconsistencies, errors, and missing values to improve the reliability of analytical results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and data scientists to understand business needs, communicate findings effectively, and contribute insights that support informed decision-making processes.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a similar field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in MES/Automation System.
  • Experience in an Automated Manufacturing Environment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in coordinating machine setup, System UAT, and modification work.
  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, Tableau, and Program Logic Control (PLC) Software.
  • Knowledge in .NET, Node Red, and Visual Studio will be an added advantage.
