A leading company in the pharmaceutical sector is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design and commission Rockwell PLC systems. The role involves troubleshooting various automation issues and supporting GMP operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multiple teams and focus on continuous improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, development, and commissioning support of Rockwell (and Siemens, where applicable) PLC systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Participate in the development and implementation of automation solutions in line with ISA-88 (S88) batch standards.
Work with the automation team to design system hardware, develop Design Specifications, control strategies, and Rockwell library elements.
Provide day-to-day support for automation systems in GMP manufacturing operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Rockwell PLCs, HMIs (FactoryTalk), and networked control systems & Support on NC and CAPA and identification of root causes
Continuous improvement of the system and support for Operations.
Field commissioning of automation equipment’s.
System administration and maintenance support.
Computer system Validation and documentation support for automation systems.
Interacting with Operations Team, Process Team, Equipment Vendors and Technology providers.
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry, with projects or operations.
Proven hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and commissioning Rockwell PLC systems (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
Understanding of Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical process
Understanding of automation hardware and networking technologies
Familiarity with SDLC and quality management processes in the pharma
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Able to manage multiple party coordination for automation information.
Good communication and able to work remotely or onsite as required by client.
