A pioneering waste collection company is seeking an Automation Engineer in Singapore to design innovative control solutions and manage automation projects. This role requires PLC programming expertise, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Candidates with 3-5 years of experience will thrive in delivering seamless integration of automation systems.
Our client is a pioneer in the global waste collection industry, renowned for inventing the pneumatic waste collection system. With 35 offices across 22 countries, our client designs, develops, and maintains sustainable waste management solutions for cities, hospitals, and airports worldwide. As an industry innovator, they are committed to creating smart cities where waste is transported underground, litterbins are self-emptying, and traditional refuse collection vehicles become obsolete.
System Design and Development: Lead the creation and implementation of innovative control solutions for waste management systems.
Project Management: Plan and coordinate automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Technical Implementation: Conduct system setup, testing, simulation, and validation, as well as provide on-site troubleshooting support.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
Technical Support: Provide expert assistance to the maintenance team in resolving automation issues and participate in systems modernization efforts.
Multi-project Handling: Demonstrate strong time management skills while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Reporting and Communication: Generate regular project progress reports and effectively communicate updates to stakeholders and management.
PLC Programming Expertise: Strong background in PLC programming, particularly with Mitsubishi and Beckhoff systems, to develop robust control solutions.
Electrical Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical control circuits and troubleshooting techniques to ensure smooth system operations.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients across diverse backgrounds.
Problem-solving Abilities: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to tackle complex automation challenges creatively.
Project Management: Capability to plan and execute projects within tight timelines, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
Technical Versatility: Knowledge of computer networking, control system design, and various communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethercat, Ethernet/IP) to create comprehensive automation solutions.
Experience: Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience in the control automation industry, but candidates with less experience and a strong passion for automation are also encouraged to apply.
