Position Summary:
As Illumina embraces the change for the next industrial revolution, the Automation Solution Center within Illumina Singapore Hub supports successful product launches and process improvements through automation solutions. Collaborate with HQ, Manufacturing Technology, and Transfer teams as part of ASC to deliver integrated automated solutions for high-volume manufacturing in Singapore.
This role is part of the Automation team within Engineering. An Automation Design Tooling Engineer combines automation engineering principles with tooling expertise. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing automated systems, involving creation and modification of tools and equipment for manufacturing processes. The role requires mechanical engineering, system integration knowledge, and a strong understanding of automation technologies. Collaboration with Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, and other engineering groups is essential to incorporate user inputs into automation system design. Support all stages of automation solutions from idea generation to deployment and production release.
Leverage past project knowledge and feedback to improve automation design rules and explore new product feasibility with teams or partners.
