Job summary

ENGGSOL PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Automation Design Engineer responsible for the automation design, platform system integration, and SMS interface.

You will handle architecture, I/O lists, and third party integration while coordinating with clients and vendors. Responsibilities include ensuring contractual and classification requirements are met, conducting vendor reviews, and supporting control room layouts and surveillance systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Marine Electronics and Automation systems.
• Knowledge in computer networking, control instrumentation and control system design.
• Knowledge of standard communication protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, RS422, RS485, NEMA, CANbus, J1939.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, Naviswork, AVEVA model software.
• Good Interpersonal Skills, problem solving and teamwork.
• Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all automation related design, platform system integration and interface with the Ship Management System (SMS).
• Design SMS architecture, functional descriptions, I/O list, and integration of third party equipment with SMS.
• Conduct integration reviews with vendors and client; design control room arrangements and platform automation.
• Liaise with client, internal engineering trades and vendors for project coordination; technical reviews with client and vendors.

Job description

• Responsible for all automation related design, platform system integration and interface with the Ship Management System (SMS) and platform system related control and monitoring and logics, which includes basic and detail design :
  
  
  
  • SMS architecture
  
  
  • SMS functional description
  
  
  • I/O list
  
  
  • Integration of third party equipment / system with SMS
  
  
  • Conduct integration reviews with vendors and client
  
  
  • Control console design and control panel arrangement
  
  
  • Control room arrangement layout
  
  
  • Platform system automation design, system control and monitoring
  
  
  
  

• Responsible for ship safety and surveillance related systems, which includes:


• Propulsion control system Dynamic positioning system


• CCTV system


• Fire Detection System


• Harbour Duty Surveillance System


• Review vendors technical proposal to ensure it meets the requirement


• Responsible for ensuring the Contractual technical requirement and Classification requirement of automation related design are fulfilled and within project schedule


• Liaise with client, internal engineering trades and vendors for project coordination


• Technical review and meetings with client and vendors during project execution to ensure requirement are fulfilled, provide solutions and resolve technical issues.

Knowledge & Skills:
